One of the basic principles of redundancy is that it is the job that is redundant, not necessarily the person who does the job. Too often, managers use redundancy as a 'soft dismissal'. It is extremely likely that a 'soft dismissal' will be found to be unfair. We can assist you with the procedure for making redundancies. This will include:

  • Helping you through the consultation process with employees who may be affected by the redundancies.
  • Assisting you with the selection process to ensure that you retain a balanced workforce.
